Jazz showcases a dancer’s individual style and originality because every dancer interprets and executes moves and steps in their own way. Jazz dancing is energetic and fun, consisting of unique moves, fancy footwork, big leaps, and quick turns.

Hip hop evolved from the hip hop culture. Hip hop is very energetic and allows dancers to perform with freedom of movement while adding their own personalities into each move.  The first dance associated with hip hop was break dancing.

Country and Western

Country and western dance can be broken down into partner and group dances.  Partner dances include both lead and follow dances and pattern dances.  Group dances include line dances and square dances. Country dancers emphasize smoothness on the dance floor, and often scoot or glide around the dance floor.

Belly Dance

Belly dancing is a great way to exercise while allowing expression of personal creativity. The most distinguishing feature of belly dancing is the isolated movements performed by the abdomen.

Flamenco

A solo dance characterized by hand clapping, percussive footwork, and intricate hand, arm, and body movements. The greatest joy of flamenco dancing is watching the personal expressions and emotions of the dancer, which change many times during a single performance.

Latin Dance

Latin dance is known for its sensual hip action and sexy flair.  International Latin consists of the Cha-Cha, Rumba, Samba, Paso Doble, and Jive.

Folk Dance

Folk dance reflects the traditional life of the people of a certain country or region.  The steps of fold dances are passed through generations, rarely being changed.  Fold dancing is usually associated with social activities, although some folk dances are performed competitively.
